Strategic Directions

JSKS formulated 7 (seven) strategic directions which are focuses domains of the organization separately and independently. The first six deal with programming issues and the last one with organizational issues.

SD-1: Quality Inclusive Education Program (QIEP)

This direction continues and scale up Early Child Care & Development program; participates in social movement to increase access of poor children to education; mobilize Parents, CBO/VDC/SDC and civil society to improve quality education. This direction focuses especially on girl’s education, dropout children because of poverty, inclusive education and vocational education for adolescent boys & girls.

SD-2: Health, Hygiene & Nutrition

This direction focuses the direction to facilitate awareness skills and practices on health and hygiene; reduce health risk of mother children & adolescent girl. Initiate program to reduce HIV/AIDS transmission; network with GoB health services and actively participate movement for improvement access and availability of health services.

SD-3: Rights & Good Governance

Building capacity of CBO/ VDC/ SDC to create access to decision making process and networking of CBO/VDC/SDC with UP/PS and facilitate collective work. Work together with the community, NGO and other actors to strengthen UP/ PS, to enhance its transparency and accountability. Increase organizational capacity on rights based approach and advocacy. Act as an active member to all kind of rights promotion movement for women, children, ethnic & char people. Advocacy to sensitize duty bearer and create greater awareness on human rights issues and organize & mobilize community to eradicate gender and social discrimination.

SD-4: Livelihood Security

Explore On-farm, Off-Farm income generating option for poor, women and seasonal unemployed. Facilitate skills development support, diversified use of local resources and capitalization of local resource person. Promote entrepreneurs using agricultural and low-cost input and provide support for market network/promotion.

SD-5: Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation

Building capacity of staff and community on disaster Risk management and provide support to reduce hardship and shock of flood, river erosion & Monga. Facilitate and participate all sorts of local/regional disaster preparedness, response and rehabilitation program.

SD-6: Empowerment especially women and girls

Improve the status of women and girls of the targeted vulnerable households through access to resources skill development and involve them in decision making process in both family and social level; poor and vulnerable women enjoy an improved social and economic status resulting in contribution of gender responsive enabling environment and realization of their rights; Building revitalizing and sensitizing potential social institution on gender equality and make them proactive on women and children rights and economic empowerment.

SD-7: Organizational Developments

Strengthening Advocacy/Net-working, further improvement of services, documentation system & Gender sensitive Micro-finance program’s quality. Building capacity especially on program design, information management and program scale-up. Explore multi-dimensional income generating options for organizational physical and financial resources to reduce donor dependency.
