Report On Exchanging book from one school to another school (Library Campaign) 2013

To create joyful environment in school for reading, make creative learners and self readers’ school library is necessary. School library helps to bring the quality education. Through school library student council will get opportunity for enhancing their leadership skill as well as to create a good nation school library is very much essential for a school. In this regards various activities were arranged by the School Management Committee (SMC) and facilitated by Jhanjira Samaj Kallyan Sangstha (JSKS) with the supported by Plan International Bangladesh.

In October’13 we have completed exchanging book from one school to another school (Library Campaign) in 20 SIP schools. It was celebrated in a festive mood. With the leadership of focal teacher all student council member as well as some others students, SMC representatives attained the library campaign.

At the end of the event, Bakul – grade III – student of Uttar Isamoti Government Primary School under Chirirbandar Upazila of Dinajpur District said, “ I am very much happy to join this event. Though I am a special need child, teachers and my friends encouraged and help for going to Isamoti school with library books. After reaching Isamoti school, I am very much happy for their (teacher and students of Isamoti GPS) hospitality”.

20131026_111449Mitu- grade IV – student of Serajulhuda (Government Primary School) GPS said, “When we are going another school with library books and biting drum, the community people asked us what is it? I am very much happy for joining this”.

Mr. Kishor Chandra Roy – Head teacher of Purbo Saintara (Government Primary School) GPS said. “Our school attached in high school. When the students come from Jaganathpur GPS, the high school teachers asked me about the event. They also enjoyed the event and said the library activity needs for high school also”.

Ms. Manoka Roy, SMC member of Purbo Saintara Sarkerpara GPS said, “If I will not join the event, I will miss to see the students potentiality. Thanks JSKS as well as Plan for supporting school library including various activities. It is really a nice event. I am happy for joining this event”.

Observance of International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction 2013

Rally of International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction

JSKS has observed the International Day for Disaster risk Reduction at Tetulia Union of Chirirbandar upazila under Dinajpur district on October 13, 2013 with the assistance of Centre for Disability in development (CDD) especially addressing the vulnerability of Persons with Disability (PWD). On that a rally was organized with the PWD and non PWD led by the hon’able chairman of Tetulia UP Mr. Sunil Kumar Sahaand  the hon’able Executive Director of JSKS including the teachers, representatives of civil society, development workers and community peoples. After completion of the rally there was conducted a discussion meeting at the Union Parishad Complex, Tetulia. The day was observed to aware and sensitize all the peoples of society and to mainstream the PWD. The chairman declared to transform Tetulia as disable friendly Union.

 

World Teachers’ Day

JSKS was observed the World Teachers Day on Last October 05, 2013 at the Dinajpur Press Club Auditorium, Dinajpur with the assistance of Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE), Dhaka. Md. Toufique Imam, ADC-Education &ICT was participated as Chief Guest. Md. Sirazul Islam, District Primary Education Officer (DPEO) Dinajpur and MGM Sarwar Hossain, Upazila Education Officer were participated as special guest. The leaders of Teachers Association, Journalists, NGO representative, representative from civil society were also present to the event.

A rally of World Teachers Day was organized by JSKS and District Primary Education Department which was led by Additional Deputy Commissioner-Education & ICT, Dinajpur.

 

After discussion meetDSC07505ing JSKS awarded the best teacher within the Rangpur Division to Sultana Pervin and Motaleb Hossain.
