Governance Structure
The Executive Committee (EC) of JSKS operates under the oversight of the General Council, holding a vital role in the organization's governance. The EC diligently fulfills an array of responsibilities, encompassing project and program planning, budgetary reviews, and providing strategic guidance to the Executive Director for effective project implementation. Additionally, the EC spearheads policy implementation, offers consultancy services, and takes charge of the annual budget preparation, expenditure reviews, and progress reports.
Meeting on a quarterly basis, the EC actively engages in organizational affairs, facilitating the organization's progress. Among its regular duties are organizing General Council Meetings, adapting new policies as necessary, conducting impromptu visits to evaluate both programmatic and financial aspects, and ensuring the internal audit of the organization involving expert resources. The EC plays a pivotal role in addressing organizational challenges, contributing to effective problem-solving mechanisms.
In this organizational structure, the Executive Director (ED) is directly accountable to the Executive Committee, adding an additional layer of accountability. This collaborative framework ensures a cohesive approach to decision-making, strategy implementation, and the overall advancement of JSKS's mission and objectives. Through its proactive involvement and oversight, the Executive Committee serves as a driving force in steering JSKS towards sustained growth and impactful service delivery.
The Executive Director of JSKS provides overall strategic, operational, and administrative leadership to ensure the effective functioning and growth of the organization. The position is responsible for implementing the vision, mission, and strategic priorities of JSKS in alignment with the guidance of the Executive Committee and General Council. The Executive Director leads the planning, design, and implementation of development programs, strengthens community engagement, and promotes rights-based and inclusive approaches to address the needs of marginalized populations.
The Executive Director oversees organizational management, including program development, financial management, human resource management, monitoring and evaluation, and compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements. The role also involves building partnerships with government agencies, development partners, donors, and civil society networks to mobilize resources and expand the impact of JSKS initiatives. In addition, the Executive Director ensures transparency, accountability, and effective governance by supporting the Executive Committee and General Council with timely information, coordination, and implementation of decisions.
Through strong leadership, strategic planning, and effective management, the Executive Director ensures the sustainability of the organization, strengthens institutional capacity, and promotes innovative, community-driven development interventions that contribute to social justice, gender equality, and the empowerment of marginalized communities.
