Dalit Youth for Dignity (DYD)
The project aims to enhance the leadership abilities of Dalit youth in Dinajpur, empowering them as active citizens and catalysts for promoting dignity and social inclusion. Key activities include organizing leadership development and rights awareness training for Dalit youth and community leaders, focusing on the Constitution of Bangladesh to enable them to challenge discrimination effectively. Additionally, the project will identify and facilitate access to alternative livelihood opportunities through skills development training, linkages with government and private sector programs, and support for small-scale enterprise development. To ensure sustainable impact, the project will conduct policy advocacy initiatives, including coordination meetings with local government institutions (Union Parishad, Upazila administration) and district-level officials to promote equal access to essential services such as health, education, WASH, and livelihood opportunities for Dalit communities. Through these integrated activities, the project seeks to create an enabling environment where Dalit youth can exercise their rights, contribute to community development, and advocate for systemic change.
