Disability Inclusion and Access to Services:

Expanding community-based rehabilitation and assistive services, and advocating for inclusive public services and infrastructure: JSKS aims to ensure that persons with disabilities particularly those from marginalized Dalit, Adivasi, and ultra‑poor communities—are fully included in development processes and have equitable access to essential services. It expands community‑based rehabilitation and assistive services by training community health workers and volunteers to identify persons with disabilities, provide basic rehabilitation support, and facilitate referrals to specialized services. The program also works to make public services and infrastructure more inclusive, by conducting accessibility audits, advocating for ramps, signage, and accessible facilities at Union Parishads, health centers, schools, and other public institutions. Through awareness‑raising and sensitization sessions, the program challenges stigma and discrimination, while also strengthening linkages with government social protection schemes, health services, and education programs. By empowering persons with disabilities and their families to claim their rights, the program promotes meaningful participation and inclusion in community life, governance, and livelihood opportunities.
