Coordination Meeting with Skill Training Providing Organisations:
With a view to strengthening coordination among skill development training providers and promoting inclusive, market-relevant skills opportunities for marginalized Dalit and Indigenous communities, a Coordination Meeting with Skill Development Training Providing Organizations was successfully held on Wednesday, 18 February at the hall room of NGO Forum, organized by Jhanjira Samaj Kallyan Sangstha (JSKS) under the EMPOWER Project.
The meeting was presided over by Mr. Mustafa Kamal, Executive Director, JSKS. Distinguished guests included Mr. Morshed Ali Khan, Deputy Director, Department of Women Affairs, Mr. Khandakar Raonakul Islam, Deputy Director, Department of Youth Development, and Mr. Rokunuzzaman Mondal, Assistant Director, District Social Services Office.
The open discussion session was enriched by the participation of Mr. Golam Azam, USSO-Dinajpur Sadar, Mr. Md. Anisur Rahman, USSO-Kaharole, Mr. Md. Rajul Islam, USSO-Birol, Ms. Runa Pervin-Upazila Women Affairs Officer (UWAO)-Birol, Afsana Mostary-UWAO (Kaharole), Nibedita Das-UWAO (Birganj), Md. Mahfuzar Rahman, Upazila Youth Development Officer (UYDO)-Birol, Md. Jamiluddin Mondal-UYDO (Birganj), Md. Khademul Islam-Training Incharge, Dinajpur TTC, Md. Nazmul Ahsan Chowdhury, District Officer, Jatio Mohila Sangstha, Md. Zahedul Islam, DGM-BSCIC along with the representatives from World Vision, CARITAS, Bace Mitali, Santal Education Center, and with 4 partner CBOs across the 4 Upazilas including local Indigenous leaders, and training providers working with Dalit and Adivasi communities.
Speakers emphasized the urgent need to ensure equal and non-discriminatory access to skill development opportunities for marginalized communities. The discussion highlighted how Decent Work and Economic Growth can play a transformative role in enhancing skills, employability, and economic empowerment particularly for Indigenous and Dalit women.
Representatives from youth groups, NGOs, and Dalit–Adivasi community organizations actively participated, reinforcing a shared commitment to inclusive livelihoods, social justice, and economic dignity.
The session was facilitated by Md. Harun-Or-Rashid, Project Manager and participated all team members of JSKS EMPOWER Team.
