Observation of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women:
As part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, under the global theme “UNiTE to End Digital Violence against All Women and Girls,” JSKS, in collaboration with Adivasi- and Dalit-led CBOs in Birganj, Kaharole, Birol, and Dinajpur Sadar Upazilas, organized a series of awareness events to mobilize communities against digital violence. In Birganj, a rally and discussion were held on 25 November, chaired by CBO President Mr. Josef Hemrom, with the participation of Ms. Aziza Asfin Peu, Fund Management Expert of Nagorikata: CEF/GFA Consulting Group, who emphasized the commitment of Nagorikata: CEF to strengthening community voices and ensuring the safety and dignity of women and girls. In Birol, 101 participants (82 indigenous women and 19 men) took part in a rally and discussion in Dharmapur Union, where JSKS Project Officer Mr. Saiful Alam stressed the importance of collective action and empowerment to end violence. In Kaharole, 100 participants (90 indigenous women and 10 men) joined a rally and meeting in Mukundapur Union, where Mr. Robin Mardi, General Secretary of Kaharol Upazila Adivasi Samaj Unnayan Samity, highlighted the silence surrounding violence against indigenous women and called for men and boys to stand as allies. In Dinajpur Sadar, 101 participants (82 indigenous women and 19 men) observed the day in Sundarban Union with a rally and discussion, reinforcing the need for community solidarity and digital safety. The events concluded with cultural performances and collective commitments to protect women and girls from all forms of violence.
