International Women’s Day 2026 -JSKS Initiatives:
On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026, JSKS actively participated in and supported district and upazila-level celebrations jointly organized with the Department of Women Affairs, Upazila Administration, and local organizations across Dinajpur. The events featured rallies, discussion sessions, and prize-giving ceremonies, bringing together government officials, civil society representatives, and marginalized communities to celebrate women's achievements and reaffirm commitments to gender equality. At the district level, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Md. Riaz Uddin chaired the session, with speeches from JSKS Executive Director Mustafa Kamal on challenges faced by Adivasi and Dalit women, Professor Md. Lutfar Rahman on the transformative power of education, and Additional Police Super Mr. Md. Rafiqul Alam on safety and protection.
In Birol, Honorable Member of Parliament Mr. Md. Sadiq Riaz joined as Chief Guest, announcing initiatives such as women-only bus services and economic empowerment programs, while UNO Mr. Jimran Mohammad Sayek called for collective action to ensure women's rights.
In Kaharole, the event focused on "Rights, Equality, and Safety," with discussions on preventing early marriage and ensuring safe working environments, while Chief Guest AC Land Probir Biswas encouraged women's entrepreneurship and use of Village Courts.
In Birganj, the celebration was marked by strong female leadership, with the UNO, Education Officer, and Women Affairs Officer all being women, and a youth representative powerfully advocating for fair opportunities, while the UNO publicly committed to ensuring immediate legal support for victims of violence. The events successfully created platforms for dialogue, strengthened linkages between marginalized communities and local administration, and resulted in concrete commitments on safety, legal support, and economic opportunities for women and girls.
