What We Do
Awareness meeting of communities on the process of Legal Aid referral mechanism
Legal Aid Awareness Meeting
The programme, facilitated by the District Legal Aid Officer and Senior Civil Judge, aims to raise awareness among marginalized communities particularly Dalit and Adivasi groups about their fundamental rights and the availability of free legal aid services provided by the government. Through interactive sessions, participants guided step-by-step on how to access the legal aid referral mechanism, including where to go, whom to contact, and what documents are required. The initiative empowers community members to seek legal remedies confidently in cases of discrimination, violence, land disputes, early marriage, and other rights violations. It also ensures that Dalit and Adivasi voices are heard within the legal system, reducing barriers to justice. Additionally, the programme establishes linkages between communities, local administration, and Legal Aid Committees, enabling marginalized groups to receive timely and effective legal support.
